relating to the American Red Cross response to the devastating terrorist
attacks in New York and Washington on September 11.
The American Red Cross is working round the clock to provide assistance
and compassion to people affected by the tragedies when two hijacked
aircraft crashed into New York's World Trade Centre, a third plane
crashed into the Pentagon building in Washington, D.C and a fourth
crashed in Pennsylvania. The final toll is still not known.

How you can help
Although the full scope of the humanitarian need and the Red Cross
response is still being assessed, it's clear that many Americans
nationwide have been affected and many will turn to the Red Cross
to help deal with the recent events and their aftermath.
To help the victims of this and other emergencies, contributions
can be made to the American Red Cross Disaster Relief Fund in the
following ways:
- By phone, in the US: Call 1-800-HELP
NOW or 1-800-257-7575 (Spanish).
- By mail: Contributions may be sent to
local chapters of the American Red Cross chapter or to the American
Red Cross, P.O. Box 37243, Washington, DC 20013.
- By Internet: Make a secure online credit

Residents in the US who would like to give blood should follow

Tracing enquiries
People wishing to trace family members in the affected areas should
