Cross delegate Killed in Yaoundé

An International
Federation delegate was attacked and killed in Yaoundé, Cameroon,
on the evening of 27 May. Catherine Duclaux, a French national and
a Regional Finance Delegate in Yaoundé, had to go to a pharmacy
last night to get medicine for her one month old baby when she was
attacked and stabbed in the chest.
With the help of bystanders, Catherine was rushed to a hospital
where she died before a surgery could be performed.
Catherine Duclaux was born in Valence, France, in 1963. Catherine
had worked for the International Federation and the French Red Cross
for more than six years. She was a valued member of the Red Cross
Red Crescent family and a friend to all who knew and worked with
her
