I have been volunteering with the Syrian Arab Red Crescent (SARC) Deir Ezzor branch since the end of 2007.

I have participated in many training courses including disaster management, risk reduction, first aid, community health care, and hygiene promotion.

We are all committed to our principles of humanity, impartiality and neutrality in helping the needy, which we have been doing since the beginning of the crisis in Syria.

I work as a first-aider. We face real risks and have even faced the death many times.

We have entered areas which were inaccessible for the others. Only SARC teams - water teams, distribution teams, first aiders - have been able to reach these areas and provide help. We have evacuated bodies as well from hard-to-reach areas.

We were able to reach people in need because everyone understands we abide by the seven fundamental Red Cross Red Crescent seven principles, especially neutrality and impartiality.

Since las year, I have been studying in the petrochemical engineering faculty. When I finish my studies, I will have my certificate, in addition to my experience working with my SARC family and friends.

I continue my volunteering work to give a hand for people in need and to protect dignity and humanity.

What I hope is that everybody respects our humanity, our emblem, and our volunteers. I am proud to wear this emblem on my chest.
