Learning network

Our goal is to change minds for the better by facilitating ubiquitous learning – a world-class education on humanitarian issues, practice, thinking and values to anyone, anywhere - to build a global community of knowledge.

The Learning Network's activities include:

  • Learning platform: learning opportunities open to all.
  • Courses offered in partnership with selected academic institutions.
  • Communities of Practice in National Society development.
  • RedTalk, live webcast conversations with leading experts to address the challenges and opportunities presented by a fast-changing world.
  • A learning blog, a public forum where Red Cross Red Crescent staff and volunteers can discover first-hand testimonies of the value of the Network's learning opportunities, share their own experiences, and reflect on what they learn.

The Learning Network helps to strengthen individual competencies among Red Cross and Red Crescent volunteers, members, staff and other humanitarian actors, stimulate new thinking in the humanitarian and development field and increase the magnitude, quality and impact of humanitarian service delivery.

In partnership with academic institutions, the Learning Network will offer training and study in four key areas:
