Margareta Wahlström on Global Disaster Risk Reduction

"There is now a sense of urgency and clear political and economic imperatives to invest in disaster risk reduction," concluded the Third Session of the Global Platform for Disaster Risk Reduction.

Herself a former IFRC Under-Secretary-General, the speaker presents key outcomes of the Platform and focuses on the opportunities of strengthening local action for resilience through effective partnerships. Margareta Wahlström is the UN Special Representative of the Secretary-General for Disaster Risk Reduction.
