Humanitarian Diplomacy: perspectives from a former diplomat

Christopher Lamb is Special Adviser to the Australian Red Cross.

Drawing from more than 40 years of experience as a diplomat and within the Red Cross Red Crescent Movement the speaker will illustrate the practical value of the humanitarian diplomacy tool, especially for National Societies exercising their auxiliary role to public authorities.

He will also reflect on how National Societies can strengthen their partnerships for both resource mobilisation and policy purposes.

The International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC) is the world's largest humanitarian organization, with 187 member National Societies. As part of the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement, our work is guided by seven fundamental principles; humanity, impartiality, neutrality, independence, voluntary service, unity and universality.
