Procurement services

The IFRC offers its procurement services online at: http://procurement.ifrc.org

The portal provides comprehensive information about the IFRC's procurement services and there are dedicated sections for customers and suppliers. Customers – both National Societies and third parties – can now register online for services. Suppliers are also able to register their company's products and services through the portal.

The development of this portal was made possible thanks to funding from the European Commission Humanitarian Aid Office (ECHO). The International Federation was recently accredited by ECHO as a humanitarian procurement centre and is expanding to third parties the procurement services it already provides to Red Cross and Red Crescent National Societies.

The portal is the public face of the International Federation's global logistics and procurement team, winners of the European Supply Chain Excellence Award (ESCA) in 2006.

"This portal is an important step forward in streamlining the service we offer to customers and expanding our supplier network”, explains Armen Petrosyan, manager of the procurement unit at the IFRC Secretariat in Geneva .

"Through this portal, and our accreditation by ECHO as a humanitarian procurement centre, we are better able to offer our global logistics and procurement services to the wider humanitarian sector. And a more streamlined service ultimately means a better result for vulnerable people everywhere."

The International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC) is the world's largest humanitarian organization, with 189 member National Societies. As part of the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement, our work is guided by seven fundamental principles; humanity, impartiality, neutrality, independence, voluntary service, unity and universality.
