In-pictures - Fiji: Cyclone Winston

On the weekend of February 20th, Fiji was struck by Tropical Cyclone Winston, the strongest recorded storm in the country’s history. The Category 5 cyclone caused extensive destruction, particularly in villages scattered across islands that lay directly in its path. More than 300 staff and volunteers from the Fiji Red Cross Society were immediately  mobilised to deliver humanitarian assistance to stricken families living in some of the worst hit communities.
