Disaster Law:  International Norms, Problem Areas and Future Directions

A workshop on disaster law for Caribbean English-speaking National Red Cross Societies, government representatives and regional and sub-regional organizations.

This event was co-hosted by the International Disaster Response Laws, Rules and Principles (IDRL) Programme, the Barbados Red Cross Society and the United Nations Office for the Coordination for Humanitarian Affairs.

The workshop aimed to develop a deeper understanding among representatives of English-speaking Caribbean governments, National Red Cross Societies and regional and sub-regional organizations in the legal issues arising during international disaster relief operations and the applicable legal framework, as well as to provide a forum to dialogue on disaster law themes in preparation for the 31st International Conference.
