In-pictures - Hurricane Matthew: Red Cross Red Crescent relief items reaching Jérémie

A cargo plane loaded with 35 tonnes of essential relief items despatched by the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC) arrived yesterday in Port-au-Prince, Haiti. The shipment included emergency food kits, hygiene kits, tarpaulins, tools for communities to repair their homes, jerrycans, buckets and water purification sachets.

The bulk of the goods were directly transported to the port and loaded onto a ship which left for Jérémie, one of the towns worst hit by Hurricane Matthew, on the same day. The boat will be received by Red Cross teams who are ready to quickly distribute the items to those in serious need of assistance.
