The International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies will host the 2012 Fleet Forum Annual Conference, which will convene during 11-13 April at the IFRC Secretariat in Geneva. The IFRC together with the WFP and World Vision have been the founding members of the Fleet Forum  -  a non-profit entity that provides a collaborative platform for sharing ideas and best practices regarding effective fleet management. Founded in 2003, the Fleet Forum seeks to add value to transport effectiveness by providing leadership and support in the areas of road safety, environmental impact, and cost efficiency.

The theme of this year’s conference is “Growth Through Collaboration.” The conference recognises Fleet Forum’s 10-year anniversary and the valuable contribution of its members to its sustainable development and growth.

“I am very honored that the IFRC will host the Fleet Forum’s 10-year conference which shows the IFRC’s engagement as one of the leading organizations regarding logistics and fleet management,” says Paul Jansen, Fleet Forum Executive Director.

The Fleet Forum conference will bring together over seventy stakeholders from aid and development, commercial sector and academia to stimulate a sharing of best practices in humanitarian fleet management and developing effective fleet solutions that leverage the latest technologies.

“The IFRC has recognized the importance of effective fleet management to enable smooth and cost-effective humanitarian operations and ensure timely delivery of aid.  The Fleet Forum provides access for the wider humanitarian community to innovative tools, knowledge and best practice in the field of effective fleet management,” says Birgitte Olsen, Head of IFRC Global Logistics Service.
