Où intervenons-nous?
Meet our volunteers
Abdullahi Ibrahim - Kenya
Abdul is one of many Kenya Red Cross Society (KRCS) volunteers from the Tana River District who are helping former pastoralists diversify their livelihoods by farming.
Safia Houssein Awaleh - Djibouti
Sitting under a shaded tree in the sweltering heat of a summer day, Safia Houssein Awaleh is proudly explaining her work as a Djibouti Red Crescent Society (DRCS) volunteer.
Guyo Golicha - Ethiopia
Guyo takes immense pride in his work as a volunteer for the Ethiopian Red Cross, and he is highly respected by his fellow community members for the service he provides. IFRC / Michael Tsegaye.
Yvonne
Think you’re too busy to volunteer? Try telling that to full-time nursery nurse and mum of four Yvonne Davies, who is also an active Red Cross first aider.
Hortense
Dressed in her Cameroon Red Cross peer educator T-shirt, Hortense is an elegant 30-year-old woman. She attracts everyone’s attention at the start of the evening’s activities in the small room in Yaoundé.
Tandiwe Muramba
Tandiwe has 2 children of her own Natasha, 10, and Shingirai, 14. "I’ve been doing volunteer work in Zimbabwe since 1992 when I first learnt first aid. Most of my work with the Red Cross is as a Nursing Assistant."
