In pictures - Getting ready for the real thing: Brunei Darussalam Red Crescent prepares for disasters

On October 6 2015, Brunei Darussalam Red Crescent volunteers joined with their government’s National Disaster Management Centre to respond to a simulated plane crash.

Taking place every two years in Brunei Darussalam, disaster simulations allow participants to practice their response in a live scenario and therefore increase their preparedness in case the real thing ever hits.

While natural disasters are rare in the country and there have been no significant natural or man-made disasters in recent history, preparedness remains at the heart of the Red Crescent’s mission.

Over 30 Brunei Darussalam Red Crescent volunteers participated, providing first aid and counting and assisting casualties.
