The international Red Cross Red Crescent Council of Delegates was held from 17-18 November 2013 in Sydney, Australia. The two day meeting brought together Red Cross Red Crescent National Societies from 189 countries, the ICRC and the IFRC.

Participants discussed how the Red Cross Red Crescent Movement can best respond to pressing humanitarian challenges and chart the future of the Movement. The theme of the meeting was “150 years of humanitarian action,” and a dialogue on this subject between the Movement components in the lead up to the Council enriched the debate in Sydney.
