World AIDS Day was marked on 12 December and focused on women and HIV/AIDS awareness. Students at universities were targeted with an awareness campaign to raise knowledge of HIV/AIDS amongst this target group. In Nablus, a survey was conducted to measure the students’ knowledge of HIV/AIDS. This helped gauge the impact of informational posters, brochures, pins, videos, CDs etc. Answers were received from approximately 850 students and preliminary results showed a need for increased education on HIV/AIDS related issues.
