The General Assembly
The General
Assembly is the supreme body of the International Federation
of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies. Composed of delegates from
all National Societies who are members of the Federation, it meets
once every two years and determines the general policy of the organization,
elects the President, appoints the Secretary General, takes decisions
on the admission and suspension of National Societies, among other
important matters. Each member society represented has one vote.
Council of Delegates
The Council
of Delegates brings together the International Federation, Red
Cross Red Crescent National Societies and the International Committee
of the Red Cross. This meets every two years and adopts resolutions
of Movement action and advocacy.
International Conference
The International
Conference of the Red Cross and Red Crescent is held every four
years and brings together all components of the Red Cross Red Crescent
Movement together with the world's states signatory to the Geneva
Conventions to consider and adopt resolutions on major, current
humanitarian issues.
