| The
General Assembly 2007
The 16th Session of the General Assembly of the
International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies
took place in Geneva, Switzerland from 20 November to 22 November
2007.
The General Assembly is the supreme body of
the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies.
Composed of delegates from all National Societies who are members
of the Federation, it meets once every two years and determines
the general policy of the organization, elects the President, appoints
the Secretary General, takes decisions on the admission and suspension
of National Societies, among other important matters. Each member
society represented has one vote.
The General Assembly is followed by the Council
of Delegates, from 23 November to 24 November 2007, and the
International Conference,
from 26 November to 30 November 2007.

The 15th Session
of the General Assembly of the International Federation of Red Cross
and Red Crescent Societies last took place in Seoul, Republic
of Korea from 10 November to 14 November 2005.
