In late
2002, 120 volunteers from all 18 Iraq Red Crescent Society
(IRCS) branches completed a real-life five-day humanitarian
exercise as part of their disaster preparedness efforts. Hassan
Al-Rawi, relief and rehabilitation manager for the International
Federation in Iraq, was among those instructing participants
about disaster response.
