Tsunami operation
Two years after the Nias earthquake
Indonesia, March 2007

On 28 March 2005, barely three months after the tsunami wreaked havoc along Aceh’s coast, a magnitude 8.7 earthquake shook the small island of Nias. More than 800 people were killed and hundreds of families were left homeless. Two years on from the disaster, and the small island is regaining much of its charm.
