The Red Cross Red Crescent transitional shelter programme, which began in July 2005 and ended in November 2007, has seen the construction of almost 20,000 sturdy, secure shelters, providing safe accommodation for 80,000 people living in almost 400 different communities across tsunami-battered Aceh.
