The Red Cross Red Crescent has committed to build 21,882 permanent houses as part of the overall humanitarian response to the tsunami tragedy. "It's a big challenge, but getting people out of tents or barracks, and into transitional houses, and thereafter permanent housing is our priority" says Peter Cameron, the International Federation's Deputy Head of the Country Delegation.
