Members of the Pakistan Red Crescent/International Federation ‘winter ops’ team take cover as a United Nations helicopter departs after dropping a load of relief items at a remote village in North West Frontier Province. The ‘winter assistance operation’ run from December 2006 to March 2007, marked the end of the PRCS/International Federation emergency relief activities connected with the quake. Overall, more than 1.1 million people benefited from relief items from the PRCS/International Federation in the quake operation since October 2005.
