The tsunami
that devastated parts of Asia on December 26 also reached
the shores of East Africa, hitting coastal villages in Somalia.
Volunteers from the Somali Red Crescent carried out relief
work, providing a wide range of services from psychological
support, basic health care, distribution of food and non-food
items and removing garbage and debris. Here they clear debris
from houses and the beach.
