Two years
of drought and bad harvests coupled with economic problems
have placed some 6.7 million people in Zimbabwe, almost half
the population, at risk of hunger and potential starvation.
Thousands of Zimbabweans have had to leave their farms in
search of alternative ways to make a living. Panning for gold
- an illegal activity - is one of the ways people are struggling
to cope in the face of poor harvests and hunger.
