The overall goal of the CBHFA elearning course is to broadly promote the CBHFA approach and materials in a time-efficient and cost effective way. The course enables staff and volunteers to gain knowledge to deliver primary health care, first aid and emergency health preparedness at the community level. It can also be used as a refresher course.

The four modules of the CBHFA elearning have been developed for National Society master facilitators and facilitators, volunteers, programme managers and IFRC and Participating National Societies delegates as well as for anyone else who is interested in gaining knowledge of this approach and contribute towards creating healthier and resilient communities.

Keeping in mind the various target groups, the course has been developed as a set of four modules, namely:

  • eModule 1: Introduction (20 minutes)
  • eModule 2: Volunteer action (80 minutes)
  • eModule 3: Facilitation (60 minutes)
  • eModule 4: Implementation (60 minutes)

Each of the eModules are divided into smaller topics and can be completed in stages. There is a quiz at the end of each module to check your learning, and a certificate confirming completion of the course.

The course is currently available in English.

French and Spanish versions will be available as of January 2014.
