Ignorance breeds
discrimination. A key to eradicating HIV/AIDS is to know what the disease
is, how it affects us, and what needs to be done.
The theme is flexible
enough to be implemented locally. Each region and country has its own HIV/AIDS problem
and cultural mores that must be considered in the campaign.
Why AIDS and not HIV/AIDS?
The issue of HIV/AIDS is often
called just AIDS.
AIDS is often understood to include
HIV.
AIDS when used by the media and
others is often meant to include HIV and HIV+ issues.
AIDS is a concept that is recognized
in every language.
Why pass it on ?
AIDS is an infectious
disease however it is transmitted.
Personal contact/dialogue
is the only way to start breaking the stigma surrounding
AIDS.
Creating a dialogue
is the first step. Action must follow.
The grass-roots nature of our programme
is aimed at providing correct information; we are known

of change.
