Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies
have been involved in the fight against HIV/AIDS since the
mid-1980s. Some of the most significant projects were highlighted
in a photographic exhibition staged at the General Assembly
2001.
Areas of work highlighted through the exhibition include
fighting stigma and discrimination, prevention, access to
care, support and treatment. These approaches to HIV/AIDS
are inseparable and equally important in any successful
strategy to fight HIV/AIDS at community level.
