The Community Animation and Peace Support project (CAPS) - Sierra
Leone Red Cross
The Community Animation and Peace Support project (CAPS) addresses
the aftermath of war-related violence that not only destroyed homes
and infrastructure, but also inflicted severe damage on family and
community relationships, social systems, livelihoods and the psyche
of individuals.
Animators help facilitate communities to begin again, motivating
and mobilizing community members to help each other rebuild, to
farm, to revitalize cultural practices, to begin reconciliation
and to plan together for community development.
