Reducing Discrimination Initiative National Society Activities Following the principle of humanity, to “protect the dignity of those live in exile, in the margins between hope and survival”, the French Red Cross has established an extensive program of assistance for refugees and asylum seekers. The programme includes “waiting areas” at major points of entry into the country, three 3 permanent centres and one transitional centre where refugees can stay while their claims are being processed by the authorities.
