Reducing Discrimination Initiative

Information Kit - Introduction

The Reducing Discrimination Initiative information kit is primarily designed to illustrate Red Cross Red Crescent action towards reducing discrimination, and towards promoting tolerance and respect for diversity.

The kit is composed of four main sections:

• background and reference texts that situate the initiative:
  • Red Cross Red Crescent commitments and statutory decisions
  • relevant international and other human rights legal instruments from the United Nations, the European Union, Council of Europe and others
    
    
• advocacy and communication materials that illustrate various aspects of Red Cross Red Crescent action to reduce discrimination:
  • speeches
  • press releases & news stories

• Red Cross Red Crescent Action
  • National Society activities and regional activities - see how others are approaching the issues of discrimination and violence in the community
    
    
• Additional Resources - further detailed documentation describing the role of the Red Cross Red Crescent Movement in reducing discrimination and violence in the community.
