Recent youth achievements

Thanks to the proactivity and enthusiasm of Red Cross Red Crescent youth, a number of great achievements and improvements of the situation of youth volunteers in the Movement has improved greatly. Here are a number of the major successes:

• A new Youth Commission - November 2005
  The International Federation Youth Commission 2005-07 was elected at the General Assembly in Seoul, Korea.
• The highest youth participation to General Assembly ever - November 2005
  Around 65 National Societies included a youth representative in their delegation to the General Assembly!
• General Assembly 2005 decision on youth - November 2005
• Youth Protecting Human Dignity Award - 2005
• Tarragona agreement - September 2004
  Red Cross and Red Crescent Youth from all over the world met with the President of the International Federation in Tarragona, Spain, in 2004 to discuss and make recommendations on youth participation.
