The Youth Commission is an advisory body to the Federation governance
that works to ensure that youth related issues are considered. It
promotes the implementation of the International Federation Youth
Policy and seeks youth opinions worldwide to ensure
that these latter are considered at the governance level of our
Movement.

The commissions set up by the General Assembly on the basis of Rule 36.1 of the International Federation’s Rules of Procedure will:
- To consider and study as requested by the Board, matters of policy development that, in each commission’s area of focus, enhance implementation of the three strategic directions of the International Federation as approved in Strategy 2010 and based on the findings of the mid-term review and help achieve its expected results.
- To define, as requested by the board, policy gaps within each area of focus, and propose a two-year work-plan to address those gaps.
- To review from time to time the current policies of the International Federation in consultation with National Societies as to their relevance and applicability, and recommend appropriate action to the board.
- To ensure that in all policy and programming recommendations, capacity building, gender perspectives, and volunteer and youth promotion/participation have been taken into consideration and that due regard is given to human resources implications.
- To report with policy recommendations to the Governing Board and present a report on their achievements to the General Assembly.
- To advise and assist the Governing Board in the implementation of the recommendations of the mid-term review of the Strategy 2010 and the Federation of the Future process.
The current commission, nominated at the General
Assembly in Seoul in November 2005 according to the recommended youth representive profile, met for the first time in May 2006 and developed it's work-plan.
