In some of the regions, youth networks have been established to encourage cooperation between youth members in different regions. The Red Cross and Red Crescent Youth Policy states that National Societies need to establish contact with sister Societies to share resources, learn from one another, and to provide a structure whereby young people can meet their counterparts from other countries, and experience true international friendship in the spirit of the Movement.

A Red Cross Red Crescent youth network is an interconnected support system for youth who interact, meet and remain in communication for mutual assistance. This structured system facilitates the sharing of experience and consequently peer-support among youth in National Societies.

The objective of youth networks is to:

Strengthen the National Societies youth programmes and structures by developing youth networks in order to share relevant knowledge and experience among youth leaders who can ensure a multiplier effect by empowering societies youth volunteers and implementing responsive programmes to improve the lives of vulnerable people in their community.
