"We are the future, but above all the present..."

More than half of the volunteers of the RC/RC are youth. Here you can met a handful of young and involved young people, all participants of the International Youth Meeting in Tarragona, Spain, in September 2004.

How long have you been involved in the Red Cross/Red Crescent?
3 years
Why did you join?
I wanted to join because of the idea of the Red Cross/Red Crescent. I like to do good for others.
What is your best Red Cross/Red Crescent experience?
Our regional youth camp in Kazakhstan was very good. It improved on the regional networks in Central Asia.
What are your hopes for our Federation of the future?
I hope that more National Societies will join the Federation. There are something like 222 countries in the world and only 181 National Societies, so there can be many more. Our National Society was the last to join; it is only one year ago that we chose one emblem and became a recognized National Society. I really hope that other countries can choose their way and join in this big idea.
