More than half of the volunteers of the RC/RC are youth. Here you can met a handful of young and involved young people, all participants of the International Youth Meeting in Tarragona, Spain, in September 2004.
 
 

How long have you been involved in the Red Cross/Red Crescent?

Why did you join?
At school, all my friends were in the Red Cross. They wore nice, white uniforms on Wednesday, and in this uniform they were unique. I wanted to be unique too. The Red Cross members were also recognized during assembly, when they were asked to raise their hands. I raised my hand even before I became a member.
What is your best Red Cross/Red Crescent experience?
My best experience was when I was enrolled. I was given my certificate and I was finally a real Red Crosser. I was very proud.
What are your hopes for our Federation of the future?
I hope that the Federation will no longer be based in Europe, but instead be a rotating Federation
