In Switzerland, the the Geneva Red Cross youth section, the International
Federation and young HIV positive people have joined to present
a full days worth of activities for 8 May.
In the morning, the Young Positive Group (a network of young people
living with HIV based in Amsterdam) ran a workshop on stigma and
discrimination for 60 youth delegates from a one week youth meeting
of 13 National Societies of central Europe.
In the afternoon, a public activity took place in a central city
square, Place du Molard. There was a performance of "live stamps"
where young people performing the actions of the "You cannot get
AIDS by..." campaign within large stamp frames. In addition a graffiti
wall was decorated by a young graffiti artist. Red Cross staff and
volunteers and the general public could also leave anti-stigma messages
on the wall.
Throughout the day, young volunteers from the Geneva Red Cross were
also "stamping" people in the street — helping to pass the anti-stigma
messages as wide as possible.
