  Youth Commission work-plan 2006-2007
 

The work-plan is guided and structured according to the 10 priorities of the Framework for Action of the International Federation.

Priority 1. Shared vision, values and organizational culture for the International Federation
Activities:
- Promote the Vision, values and the Youth Policy
- Identify two existing successful training tools for the promotion of FP and HV in each region

Priority 2. Effective, empowered leadership, governance and management
Activity:
- Contribute to the Constitutional review process through the YC member in the Const. group as well as through other ad hoc groups

Priority 3. A global communications and advocacy strategy to position the International Federation

Activities:
- Advice to modernise communication tools to meet current trends and scale up regional capacity (ex. FedNet) - Suggest new initiatives to improve communication and advocacy activities

Priority 4. Ongoing analysis and a common understanding of external trends
Activity:
- Identify elements to analyze the external trends in the field of youth and assess potential risk and opportunities

Priority 5. A Federation-wide approach to planning, performance management and accountability
Activities:
- Continue the Youth Global Consultation and create its added value
- ensure the analysis of the results in view of policy development

Priority 6. A flexible, responsive, Federation-wide operating model
Activities:
- Promote responsive and participatory youth programmes (special focus on HIV/AIDS)
- Identify operating model for Youth in the regions (special focus on Africa)

Priority 7. Reinforced regional networks and structures
Activities:
- Facilitate the development of sustainable Youth regional networks
- Identify clear functions of the regional Youth networks in close cooperation with them

Priority 8. Strengthened and improved cooperation, coordination and support mechanisms
Activities:
- Identify YC members to implement specific task
- Share knowledge on the progress about youth regional networks

Priority 9. A human resources strategy to strengthen the volunteer and staff base of the International Federation
Activities:
- Review the existing training tools available in the IFRC to promote youth Policy/participation and promote them
- Coordinate the contribution to the ad hoc volunteering group

Priority 10. A global fund-raising strategy to increase resources for all parts of the International Federation
Activities:
- Promote existing opportunities to fund Youth programmes (such as the Capacity Building Fund)
- Suggest new initiatives to promote the image of RC/RC Youth in order to mobilise resources for the IFRC
