About joining the Red Cross:
I joined the Red Cross in 1984 because my mother was in the Red Cross and she was always making me do things for the Red Cross. I decided to bring some friends along to make it less boring, and in this way I started the first youth group of the Belize Red Cross.

Expectations for the Youth Commission:
Since the beginning of my first term in the Youth Commission, my main objective and concern has been the position of youth within the secretariat in Geneva, and one of my main goals is still to strengthen the support for youth at this level. I also hope to have more young people within the Movement take part in statutory bodies such as the General Assembly, the Governing Board and various groups. There should always be young people in committees when decisions are made; this should be constitutional! Furthermore, I hope to strengthen the position of youth in the field, so that the potential force of youth is recognized!
