"We are the future, but above all the present.."

More than half of the volunteers of the RC/RC are youth. Here you can met a handful of young and involved young people, all participants of the International Youth Meeting in Tarragona, Spain, in September 2004.

How long have you been involved in the Red Cross/Red Crescent?
13 years
Why did you join?
One of my best friends wanted to help people and she asked me where to go. I told her to go to the Red Cross, and she asked me to accompany her there. I joined, found many friends, and stayed in the Red Cross.
What is your best Red Cross/Red Crescent experience?
In 2002 a petrol ship sank outside the coast of Spain. We went to the beach to clean up. It was a good experience because I met many people and we did a good job in cleaning up the environment.
What are your hopes for our Federation of the future?
I hope we will finally find a workspace for the youth in the Federation.
