Armenian Red Cross, virtually all the volunteers are youth.
This was visible during the celebration
of the International Volunteer Day 2004.
One of the many projects of the young voluneteers is the smiley
club, a club for refugee children. The project was started
in Norway by Armenian youth delegates, who also took the project
back to Armenia. |

The tumultuous struggle
for power following the disputed elections is not the only mass
campaign being waged in Ukraine. Far from snowy Kiev, in the
Black Sea port of Sevastopol, HIV rates are among the highest
in Europe. Young Red Cross volunteers have taken to the streets
to warn their peers of the dangers of risky sex and drugs. |

The Conference of
Non-Governmental Organizations (CONGO) committee of youth in
Geneva met with representatives from the UN , including the
UN Programme for Youth, in order to increase cooperation and
partnerships between the UN and CONGO youth. |

Children's Day celebrated in Sri Lanka

Cross youth volunteers participated with First Aid, as well
as information about HIV and AIDS, Red Cross Red Crescent yistory and principles
and values, as Sri Lanka celebrated International Children's Day for three
full days. |

Namibian Red Cross is hoping to educate young people about some
of the welfare issues that might affect them, from HIV and AIDS
to violence and sexual abuse, by means of a new television
series, soul buddyz. |

to save lives

to mark World First Aid Day, and taught life-saving during the
