December 2005
In order to enhance the preparedness, quick response, attention, accuracy and awareness of relief team leaders of the Iranian Red Crescent Youth as well as to generally increase the efficiency and effectiveness in disaster management, the Iranian Red Crescent organized its second forum of Youth Relief Team Leaders (Each team includes 33 persons) in Khuzestan province in December 05.

Close to 900 team leaders, 441 men and 450 women, participated in the forum. The training courses included psychological support in disasters, management and leadership, emergency sheltering, first aid, etc. The training courses (theoretical & practical) were conducted with different methodologies such as sessions, maneuver relief and cultural competitions. Visits to historical sites in the province were also arranged.

The training aimed to increase the capacities, experience, and skills of relief workers (volunteers and employees) in order to improve the level of rescue and relief assistance and psychological support offered during and after disasters. These areas of work are considered the most important priorities of Iran Red Crescent Society.

Alongside with this forum, an exhibition of relief equipment and other related activities of the provinces was organized which was appreciated by the participants.
