The 7th Pan-African Conference which took place in Johannesburg, South Africa from 19–22 October heralded a major step forward for youth volunteers of African Red Cross and Red Crescent societies. Prior to the opening of the conference, a meeting was held for youth representatives to prepare their positions for the discussions to come in order to have the greatest impact.

September 2008 - Italy

The Italian Red Cross organized the second edition of International Clown Camp from the 23 to 30 August 2008 in Sicily, Italy. The aim of these camps is the sharing this kind of activity with young members of other National Societies.

From the 20–31 August of this year you would hardly hear the Armenian language being spoken in the offices of the Armenian Red Cross youth. A delegation of 10 energetic German Red Cross volunteers from the Baden Württemberg regional branch paid their biennial visit.

 This August, the Irish Red Cross hosted their first international youth camp in almost twenty years. The development camp which had the theme “Youth – are we the new frontier of the Federation brought together youth representatives from National Societies all over Europe.

August 2008 - Belarus

From 16–21 July 2008, over 60 youth volunteers of the Belarusian Red Cross were joined by youth volunteers of the neighbouring societies of Ukraine and Poland as well as Denmark to attend the “Youth leaders school 2008”.
