Health policy

National Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies and their International Federation, as the most significant humanitarian actor in the health and social welfare sector, contribute throughout the world to alleviating suffering of the most vulnerable people, both during a disaster and at other times. Activities that support health have always been central to carrying out the humanitarian mandate of National Societies and their International Federation. The vision of the International Federation, in line with the Strategy 2020, is “To inspire, encourage, facilitate and promote at all times all forms of humanitarian activities by National Societies, with a view to preventing and alleviating human suffering, and thereby contributing to the promotion and maintenance of human dignity and peace in the world.”
