Nigeria: Hunger crisis 2021

The North West and North Central states of Nigeria are facing high levels of food insecurity due to a combination of long-running armed conflict and violence, disrupted livelihoods, reduced market access, localized food production shortfall and the impacts of COVID-19 on food supply chains. This Emergency Appeal will enable the IFRC to support the Nigeria Red Cross Society (NRCS) to deliver humanitarian assistance to 200,000 people (33,000 households) over 18 months, focussing on areas such as livelihoods and basic needs, health and nutrition and water, sanitation and hygiene (WASH).
