Shaping the IFRC-DREF of the Future — this is the focus of the 2025 IFRC-DREF Pledging Conference, as outlined in this concise, four-page concept note. This gathering is an opportunity to co-create a shared strategic vision for the next five years of the Fund, ensuring it continues to deliver timely, innovative, and impactful support where it is needed most. At the same time, we aim to secure pledges for both 2025 and 2026, acknowledging that partners’ contributions may depend on budget availability and planning cycles. For 2025, our target is to mobilize 100 million Swiss francs — a milestone that will position the IFRC-DREF as a leading high-quality pooled fund for locally led humanitarian action and anticipatory approaches, while pioneering innovative financing through its insurance mechanism. Achieving this will further reinforce the IFRC-DREF as a cornerstone in the transformation of the humanitarian system, both today and in the years ahead.
