The IFRC and our 192 National Societies have provided shelter to disaster-affected populations for many decades. Our shelter and settlements assistance methods vary greatly depending on the context, type of disaster, local capacities, scale and resources. But they all have a common goal: to save lives and set a path for communities to recover sustainably.

This regional roadmap for the Americas provides an overview of National Society shelter and settlements work in recent years. And it provides recommendations, goals and strategic priorities for 2021-2025 so that our Americas Regional Office and National Societies can improve this work.
