The International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement has a long history of working to protect children on the move, irrespective of their legal standing, at all stages of their journey. 

As part of their humanitarian mandate, the IFRC and National Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies endeavour to protect and assist vulnerable children, including children on the move and others ‘living at the margins of conventional health, social and legal systems’. We also engage governments and other stakeholders to improve the protection of children on the move.
