The International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC) is devastated to learn about the loss of another Palestine Red Cresent colleague who was killed during the evacuation of Al Amal hospital on 24 March.

The body of Mohammad Maher Khalil Abed, an employee of the PRCS Amal Hospital, was discovered on Sunday.

Our thoughts are with his family and loved ones during these challenging moments. Our condolences to family, friends and colleagues at Palestine Red Crescent Society

PRCS staff and volunteers continue to provide vital assistance and support. But the loss of yet another colleague in the line of duty is a stark reminder of the dangers our humanitarian workers face every day. Humanitarian and healthcare workers must be protected.

16 PRCS staff and volunteers and 3 from Magen David Adom have been killed since the onset of the escalation.

This must stop now.
