IFRC National Society Preparedness Framework
The National Society Preparedness Framework provides a common foundation for strengthening preparedness, readiness, and response capacities across the IFRC network. It sets out clear principles and practical guidance for National Societies to embed preparedness in their strategies and operations, ensuring they can act quickly, effectively, and accountably when crises strike. Emphasising learning, adaptation, and coordination, the Framework is aligned with global initiatives and humanitarian standards, while remaining relevant to diverse local contexts. It is operationalised through the Preparedness for Effective Response (PER) approach, which offers practical tools and processes to turn principles into action and support National Societies in delivering faster, more coordinated, and locally led humanitarian assistance. This framework is available in English, French, and Spanish below.
