On November 6, 2025, prior to the IV CELAC-European Union Summit in Santa Marta, Colombia, the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement, in collaboration with the European Civil Protection and Humanitarian Aid Operations Directorate-General (ECHO), convened the event “From Commitment to Action: Humanitarian Innovation in EU-LAC Cooperation” in Bogotá, Colombia. The event brought together high-level representatives from CELAC and European Union member states, leaders of the Movement, and regional governmental and non-governmental actors to address the changing humanitarian landscape in Latin America and the Caribbean and reaffirm joint commitments to principled and locally led humanitarian action.
